Nigerian superstar Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has made history with his debut album Rave & Roses Ultra, which has become the first African album to surpass 3 billion streams on YouTube Music.

The record-breaking achievement was confirmed on Wednesday, setting a new benchmark for African music on the global stage.

At the heart of the album’s success is Rema’s worldwide hit “Calm Down,” along with its hugely popular remix featuring American pop sensation Selena Gomez. The remix has been instrumental in catapulting the album’s reach and numbers to unprecedented heights.

Beyond YouTube, Rave & Roses Ultra also dominates on Spotify. It holds the title of the most streamed African album on the platform, with 3.9 billion streams and counting. Notably, it's also the first African album to cross the 2 billion mark on Spotify, and remains the only Nigerian project to reach that milestone.

This monumental accomplishment not only cements Rema’s place as a global Afrobeats ambassador but also highlights the soaring international demand for African music.
